How fees work

  • Insurance we work with

I am out of network with insurance plans, so you pay the practice directly and can ask your plan to reimburse you. I do not bill Medicare or Medicaid. If you want a clinician who does, tell me and I will help you look.

    • Out of network with insurance plans

    • Medicare and Medicaid are not billed

  • If you pay yourself

Your fee for a 50-minute session is given to you in writing before you book. A limited number of reduced-fee sessions are held; ask when you write to me. I ask for 24 hours' notice to cancel or move a session.

    • HSA and FSA cards work for sessions

    • 24 hours' notice to cancel or move a session

  • Receipts for reimbursement

Each month I send an itemized receipt, called a superbill, that you can send to your plan. It carries a diagnosis code, which your plan will see. Your plan decides whether it pays you back and how much.

  • An estimate in advance

If you pay without insurance, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of what your care will cost before you start, and I give you a written estimate in advance. If a bill is $400 or more above the estimate, you can dispute it. The estimate is not a contract.

  • Checking your benefits

Before your first session, I will go through your plan's out-of-network benefits with you if you ask, and tell you what to ask your plan. I cannot promise what a plan will pay.
